The Parish Church of San Jorge in Alcalá de los Gazules was built on a Muslim mosque. The present church has a Latin cross plan and was built during the 16th and 18th centuries.

In the Church in the Gothic style although most of the are altarpieces are baroque, standing out are pieces of great value such as a Visigoth pedestal, an icon of San Sebastián from the 12th century (Cavallini or Cimabuc), the Virgen del Rosario of Martinez Montanes, the Christ Yacente attributed to Juan de Mesa, magnificent choir stalls from 1742, the organ and a custody of the 17th century by Bartolomé del Castillo.
