Monasterio de la Victoria
This building was constructed on the outskirts of the city. Since its foundation, this building has gone through various vicissitudes and different uses.
Marisma de los Toruños y Pinar de la Algaida
It is a small peninsula formed by the Guadalete River and the seas erosion, the marshes constitute the main landscape elements (one of the best preserved of the Bay) and the coastal sandy areas and beaches.
Iglesia Mayor Prioral
This Church is built on the high part of the city, its existence being documented since 1486, coinciding with the peak stage of promoting the Dukes of Medinaceli in the villa.
Fundación Rafael Alberti
This foundation has its headquarters in a two thousand square meter building, where the poet lived during his childhood. It contains the donation made by Rafael Alberti and his first wife María Teresa León to the hometown of the author, one of the greatest representatives of the Generation of the 27.
Playa de Levante
It´s part of the Bahia de Cadiz Natural Park. It is more than 4 km long, near the residential area Valdelagrana. Secluded beach, without promenade, with golden sand, low utilization and calm sea, but a bit windy sometimes.
Plaza de Toros de El Puerto
Having a monumental personality it was inaugurated in 1880, its extraordinary size and architectural style, are influenced by the bullfighting history of the town and their circumstances at the time of the construction.
Playa de Valdelagrana
It has a length of almost 2 km. Urban beach of golden sand, promenade, high utilization and with gentle waves. It has very good services. Quite a good number of bars and restaurants.
Casa Palacio de Aranibar
The Palace of Aranibar, from the 17th century, preserves a remarkable coffered ceiling of Moorish origin with geometric shapes. It is one of the best examples of Houses belonging to the so called Chargers to the Indies.
Playa de la Puntilla
It has a length of 1.5 kilometers and is located in an area called Parque Dunas de San Antón (Important pine forest, adjacent to sand dunes) and next to the the river Guadalete. Semi-urban beach with fine sand, with beach promenade, high utilization, often a bit windy, perfect for windsurfing. Good service.
Sala Hospitalito y Auditorio
This showroom is an extension of the existing Municipal Archaeological Museum. It has an interesting collection of items from Islamic- Andalus Archaeology and from the early and late Middle Ages.
Complejo Endorreico de El Puerto de Santa María
It is composed of three lagoons: the Salada, the Chica and the Juncosa Lagoons.The ecological value of this reserve lies in being an important point for the conservation of birds, some endangered.
Dunas de San Anton
They offer a great opportunity to practice nature leisure activities, thanks to its recreational area, along which runs the promenade.
Centro Alfonso X El Sabio
In this center there is exposed a facsimile reproduction of the world map of Juan de la Cosa, conducted in the Puerto de Santa María in 1500, along with documents of the stay of Christopher Columbus in the city.
Yacimiento Arquelógico Doña Blanca
Along with its spectacular level of conservation, the site has the keys for the correct research and interpretation of the Phoenician presence in the Bay of Cadiz, its relationship with the indigenous people and other chronological aspects related to this.
Fundación Pedro Muñoz Seca
This foundation hosts the permanent exhibition “Pedro Muñoz Seca: The Humor inside and outside the theater,” which provides an overview of the portuense author using the same humor that characterizes his life and work and turned him into a myth of laughter and ingenuity.
Playa de Fuentebravía
It has a length of about 700 meters and is located in a residential area (El Manantial and Fuentebravía). Urban beach without Promenade, with fine golden sand, high utilization and moderate swell. A good service is offered and you can go fishing and windsurfing.
Casa de los Leones
This building from the 18th century, popularly called “Casa de los Leones” (House Of The Lions) named like this because of the reliefs of this animal which are found on the pilasters that frame the façade, is one of the most characteristic of the civil architecture of the Baroque Cadiz examples.
Playa de la Calita
It has a length of slightly more than 0.5 kilometers and is located between the beaches Playa de la Muralla and Playa de Santa Catalina. Urban beach with fine sand and a few rocks, no promenade, with average utilization and small waves. Good service. Allows diving and fishing.
Playa de Santa Catalina – El Puerto de Santa María
It has a length of 3 km and is located next to the districts Vistahermosa (the beach is called like this by the locals). Urban beach of golden sand and moderate waves. There is a good service offered and water sports and fishing are allowed.
Bahía de Cádiz
It is situated on a large area of wetlands. The special ecological characteristics of the area are given by the influence of the nearby ocean and the mild Mediterranean climate.
