What to see in Zahara de la Sierra
Bosque de Pinsapos
Zahara is the only town that has a forest of firs within its city center. This noteworthy tree and unique of its kind, is a relic of the Quaternary.
Poblado Nazarí – Iglesia Mayor de Zahara
It is a site that stretches over the top of the rock where the village sits. There we can find the “Medieval Village” in a space defined by two defensive lines.
Torre del Reloj
It is one of the oldest monuments in Zahara de la Sierra. It was built in the 16th century; this ancient bell tower marked the rhythm of life in the town, indicating the duration of the workdays and the worshiping activities.
Sierra de Grazalema
It is one of the most valuable ecological areas in the southern peninsula and therefore of great importance in the rest of the territory. It is considered a Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO ) and Special Protection Area for Birds.
Iglesia Santa Maria de la Mesa
Beautiful temple from the 17th century, built over an ancient hermitage. It has one of the richest museums in the province in the art of jewelery and embroidery with examples of the Renaissance, Mannerist, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.
