The “Corrales de Rota” (Rota’s fishing pens) are small plots installed in the sea which represent a traditional way to leverage resources from the Roman period.
Rota remodeled this activity building archaic fish farms. In these entered fish, cuttlefish and octopus at high tide, these are trapped in the stone cages when the tide goes back down. Then they are caught using traditional tools such as the trident, the tidal knife and the cast net.
