The Calzada Romana (Roman road) of Castellar is a paved road that runs from the area known as “La Jarandilla”, at the beginning of the road leading to the old town, and reaches the castle walls.
Of unknown origin, its 4700 meters long could have served as a road to access the Roman settlement located under the foundations of the current Muslim Castle.
Half way along the road and flanked by thickets, we come along a watchtower of this strategic point.
