Castillo de Fatetar
From the Fatetar Castle the whole villa of Espera was dominated and it had a direct control over the Salado River and the countryside.
Tradition says that King Hespero built his sanctuary or an astronomical observatory. Roman remains have been found near the foundations, which can place its origin at the time and it is believed that Abderramán III ordered the construction of the Castle Fatetar in the year 914 atop the ruins of a Visigoth fortress.
The set fits perfectly to the steep terrain of the hill and is surrounded in part by a pit dug into the rock of very outstanding features. It is composed of two lines of walls and the fortress, well worth the visit.
