The San Sebastián Castle is used mainly as an exhibition area and venue for concerts and other entertainment events. Getting there, along the Fernando Quiñones promenade is a true spectacle.

According to tradition, this place was based on the Old Age Phoenician temple of Moloch-Kronos. This fortress is situated on a small island that took its name from a chapel built in 1457 by the crew of a Venetian ship which were allowed to remain there to cure themselves from the plague that was ravaging there ship.

The fortress has had lighthouses at different times served to guide sailors and had defensive functions.
