The Castillo de Tavizna (Tavizna Castle) is situated on a hill that rises in the middle of a valley, around five hundred meters away from the river Tavizna.

The fortress is now in ruins, although you can visit a huge courtyard. It was formerly known as Aznalmara Castle, name under which it appears in several books of the era such as “Chronicle of the Catholic Monarchs”, “Chronicle of Hernando del Pulgar” and in the “History of the Catholic Kings”.
