Culture in Espera
In this museum the valuable historical and cultural heritage of the village is shown. In it multiple pieces that were found at different sites and historical places of the municipality are exposed.
The old Cilla House is an interesting baroque building that was intended to collect and store the products of the tithes, a tribute that was offered to the Church. It also had a wine press and a mill, which activity has continued to this day and age.
The set fits perfectly to the steep terrain of the hill and is surrounded in part by a pit dug into the rock of very outstanding features. It is composed of two lines of walls and the fortress, well worth the visit.
It is a beautiful Renaissance-style temple and is a magnificent example of Andalusian architecture from the second half of the 16th century. It is dedicated to the worship of Santa María de Gracia and standing out in the inside are some impressive paintings at the main altar by Pablo Legote.
