What to see in Bornos
Iglesia Santo Domingo de Guzman
It is the most important religious monument of Bornos. There is not an accurate record of when exactly it was built, although it is believed that it must have been around the late 15th or the early 16th century.
It is one of the most important monuments to visit in Bornos. The exterior of the building, built in the 18th century is in the Neoclassical style, noteworthy for its sobriety and the simplicity of the lines of its façade,
Colegio de la Sangre
This is an interesting building from the late 16th century which was also been used as a hospital. It was built to house twelve hidalgo servants, squires of the house of the Lord Duke and other good and clean blood men from their state.
Castillo del Fontanar – Palacio de los Ribera
This ancient Arabic fortress preserves some paintings of the wall and tower. In the 16th century it was completely restored and transformed, receiving the name of Palace of the Ribera.
Cola del Embalse de Bornos
It’s a wetland of great ecological value where numerous birds nest, many of which are protected species. If you want to make the most of your visit we recommend you make it in winter time, during the sunrise or sunset.
