In the province of Cadiz, Spain, there are plenty of great beaches for all tastes where to sunbathe, surf or swim.

Urban beaches, familiar beaches, nudist beaches, dog friendly beaches, pristine beaches with small coves or perfect beaches for practising water sports… You name it, Cadiz has it all!

Today we would like to show you our very personal selection of beaches in the province, based on our own preferences for tranquility and nature. Nine beaches seem to me few considering the hundreds of kilometers of coast with which Cadiz.

So come with us as we take you on a journey to our favourite beaches in the province of Cadiz.

El Palmar is the nearest beach to Vejer de la Fronteraand one of our favourite summer destinations. It is one of the nicest beaches in the province with many options for leisure time and nightlife: bars, restaurants and pubs open until early in the morning, and of course, a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes. It is a huge beach with more familiar parts and also more distant and quiet areas where nudism is allowed.

Lack of parking space is a problem here but there are several car parks along the beach.

La Barrosa

Undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain.
It is a 14 km long are beach, divided into 3 parts or “pistas”. The 1st is the most urbanized and is crowded with beach bars, bars, hotels, pubs, etc.

At the end of the promenade, where the other two tracks begin, you will find km long white sand beaches, with high ecological value. For the last years, La Barrosa beach received the Blue Flag award which recognises the highest level of cleanliness and water quality across the world.

Las Calas de Roche

Perhaps one of the best destinations for those windy Levante days. The Calas de Roche are formed by small coves of exceptional beauty and small size in the northern coast of Conil de la Frontera. At some of them nudism is allowed and they are mostly accessible by stairs. They are usually crowded on weekends, but not so crowded on weekdays.

Playas de Bolonia, Punta Paloma and Valdevaqueros

These are are lovely beaches in e Tarifa with breathtaking views of the African continent on clear days. , They are a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts such as kite surfers, surfers, wind surfers, etc. due to its weather conditions (west and east winds). Bolonia is famous for its huge dunes and for housing the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia. As we head towards Punta Paloma we will find the wildest side of these beaches, where you can not miss bathing in the natural pools between rocks..Valdevaqueros and Bolonia are also perfect spots for water sports, with great barswhere to have a drink.

Playa de los Alemanes

Named after the Germans who built the hillside of this beach for years, this beach, located in Zahara de los Atunes is one of the greatest treasures of the province. It is never too crowded, not even in summer, so the tranquility is guaranteed. Transparent waters, white sand and hillside landscape with impressive villas are some of the reason why you should visit this beach.

Playa del Faro de Trafalgar

Los Caños de Meca boasts wonderful beaches of cliffs and dunes. Playa de Trafalgar is an stunning beach on the Atlantic coast with amazing views on Lighthouse. It is a wild and paradisiacal beach where one can relax and forget everyday stress.. Los Caños de Meca, is one of those places that you should visit at least once in your life. Artisan markets, bars and restaurants with a bohemian feel. In addition, the beach is a great place for nature lover, since it is surrounded by the the Natural Park of the Breña and Marshes of Barbate.
To the north you will find the beautiful Zahora beach, in Barbate.

La Playa de Zahora, en Barbate, es la continuación del faro de Trafalgar hacia el norte de la costa gaditana.

Playa de Zahora

This beach is one of those places where you would like to stay forever. Here there is absolutely everything: bars, restaurants and chiringuitos and also stunning wild nature. Although it is not easy to access this beach, it is definitely worth visiting, Finally, do not miss the beautiful sunset time on this beach, definitely one of the most beautiful ones in the world.
